16th September 2019 marked Malaysia Day to every Malaysians but it drew even more smiles on the faces of two mothers as they had successfully given birth to their respective new-borns at Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) to coincide with the historic day of the country.
One of the proud mothers, Suhaila Seman @ Othman, 29, was expecting to deliver her very first baby on 24th September 2019, instead she gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl, weighing 2.35kg on the nation’s 56th Malaysia Day at 4.03am. Her husband, Nur Azrul Haqim Abdul Aziz, 29, an Operation Technician felt honoured to have their daughter arrive on such a significant day. Suhaila who works as an HSE Administrator at Pengerang, Johor, felt so grateful for the baby’s healthy and safe delivery.
Another couple from Taman Seri Orkid, Skudai, Nurul Amira Abdul Manap, 27, a Nurse and Muhammad Syafiq Jamil, 29, an Executive Officer, welcomed a healthy 2.66 kg baby girl. Nurul Amira was admitted to CAH-IP on the same day and delivered the baby at 10.09am. The couple thanked everyone at CAH-IP for making sure everything went smoothly for them. They also said it was unexpected for their second child to arrive on Malaysia Day, because the original due date was on 26th September 2019. They felt honoured because they will celebrate their daughter’s birthday on Malaysia Day every year.
The delivery stages for all the babies were smooth and without complications. All mothers and babies are doing well under the care of Dr. Rohaini Md Jonit, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist; Dr. Razlina Johari, Consultant Pediatrician and assisted by well-trained midwives and nurses. All families received a gift pack from the hospital filled with heartwarming notes.
