An initiative to help the underprivileged students
Regency Specialist Hospital had organised a fund-raising initiative called We Run #bagtoschool programme at Eco Business Park 1 Phase 2 in an effort to help underprivileged students.
The joint initiative between Regency Specialist Hospital, the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) and Prudential BSN Takaful had successfully attracted almost 500 participants from all walks of life.
“With the current economic climate with low consumer confidence and spending and high cost of living, many families with a household income of RM3,000 or less are struggling to make ends meet,” said Isaiah Cheong, Director of Marketing and Business Development of Regency Hospital during his speech.
“Your contribution in registering for and participating in this run has allowed us to raise funds in aid of underprivileged children in education,” he added.
The funds raised during this event is expected to be distributed in November this year to the underprivileged primary school children from single parent families and families whose household income falling under the B40 category.
Corporate organisations, associations, and NGO have shown tremendous support for this event including their sponsorship. Runners also stood a chance to win bicycle sponsored by Shimano, gym membership by Urban Fitness and other prizes.
Regency Specialist Hospital has always been passionate and committed to providing quality healthcare to the community and believes strongly in giving back to the society.
