Forest City CGPV made it in Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Fully Automated IBS Plant

The plant is ready to supply and install IBS components for both government and private sectors

Forest City Industrialised Building System (IBS) Plant has set a record in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) as Malaysia’s largest fully automated IBS factory in the country.

CGPV Industrial Building Systems (CIBS) Sdn Bhd Executive General Manager Jerry Wang received the recognition from Edwin Yeoh, MBR’s adjudicator witnessed by Works Minister, Baru Bian as the event’s guest of honour.

CGPV Executive General Manager, Hugo Wu, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) CEO Datuk Ir. Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid and Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) CE Datuk Ismail Ibrahim were also present.

The 18-acre plant comprising of 8 production lines, a concrete batching plant and storage yard coupled with the in-house Building Information Technology (BIM) design, the plant has the capability of producing 13 types of building components with a planned capacity to produce 260,000 cubic metres of materials. The capacity is enough to cover one million square meters of built area, an equivalent to 9,000 apartment units per annum.

CIBS has been supplying to internal projects for the past 2 years and now the company is set to aid the government.

“Through National Housing Policy 2.0, we heard the government’s call for more affordable houses to be built across Malaysia, therefore, we are ready to supply and install IBS components for both the government and the private developers’ affordable housing projects,” said Country Garden Malaysia and Forest City Director of strategy Ng Zhu Hann.
“The recognition of MBR is a strong testament to the increasing trend of private sector adopting IBS technology as part of the CIDB Construction Industry Transformation Programme 2016-2020”, said CIDB CEO Datuk Ir. Ahmad Asri.

CGPV is a joint venture between Esplanade Danga 88 Sdn Bhd and its Guangdong based developer partner, Country Garden Group.
