The Johor Public Transport Corporation (PAJ) together with Tourism Johor, continues efforts to strengthen the image and quality of taxi services in the state through the Taxi Driver Engagement Programme in conjunction with the Year of Visiting Johor 2026.
This programme emphasises efforts to create a neater, modern, professional and tourist-friendly taxi identity in Johor, in line with the aspiration of strengthening the tourist experience and making public transport part of Johor’s face and identity.
This ceremony was officiated by Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli Bin Mohamad Salleh, chairman of the Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee, who also emphasised the importance of taxi services as part of Johor’s face and identity to tourists.
PAJ also focused on improving the public transport operating environment around Jalan Jim Quee and JB Sentral, including organising bus and taxi movements and improving connectivity ahead of the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link operation.
The effort is also supported by the development of a Pedestrian Overhead Bridge (POB), which is equipped with escalators and has a direct connection to the JB Sentral taxi lay-by area, thus making it easier for RTS Link users to continue their journey using taxi services.
This initiative reflects PAJ’s commitment to ensure that Johor’s taxi services remain relevant, competitive and able to provide a better travel experience to citizens and tourists.
