Johor History Told by Remarkable Figures at Johor Figures Museum

Muzium Tokoh Johor (Johor Figures Museum) opened on 5th June 2026, as a new heritage and education destination showcasing the struggles, leadership, and contributions of notable Johor figures.

In a post promoting the opening, Yayasan Warisan Johor’s Facebook page stated that the opening of this museum represents a continuous effort to preserve the historical treasures and legacy of Johor figures so that they can be known and inspire current and future generations, thereby strengthening the Johor people’s identity.

“This heritage building has undergone conservation and upgrading work to ensure that it remains welcoming and visitor-friendly while retaining its original historical and architectural values. The museum also emphasises a modern exhibition style with interactive technology, multimedia visuals, and historical archive collections,” it said.

Several interesting galleries are on display, covering administration, politics, education, literature, the economy, sports, and state development.

In conjunction with the opening of the museum, visitors can enjoy the following special promotional price offers for citizens only from 5th June to 4th July 2026:

  1. RM10 for adult citizens (normal price RM20);
  2. ⁠RM2 for senior citizens and citizen children/students aged 2-17 years (normal price RM5);
  3. ⁠RM100 for adult non-citizens;
  4. ⁠RM30 for non-citizen senior citizens and non-citizen children/students aged 2-17 years; and
  5. ⁠Free for children under 2 years & the disabled

The museum will operate every Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm. For Fridays, the operating hours are from 9 am to 12 noon and continues from 3 pm to 6 pm.

“The Johor Figures Museum also serves as a historical and educational reference centre, in addition to instilling a spirit of patriotism, identity and appreciation for the services of previous figures in developing the state of Johor.”

“This opening is hoped to strengthen the cultural and historical tourism sector of Johor and become one of the main attractions in conjunction with Visit Johor Year 2026,” said Yayasan Warisan Johor in a statement, wishing it would become a heritage landmark that continues to elevate the legacy of Johor’s heroes to a higher level.
