Immigration clearance at the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex is expected to be faster with 26 new e-gates

Visitors going to Johor or Singapore can anticipate quicker and more seamless immigration procedures at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar CIQ complex (BSI).

The installation of 26 additional e-gates would assist reduce traffic and expedite the clearance procedure at the Johor-Singapore border, according to Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, chairman of the Johor Works, Transportation, Infrastructure, and Communications Committee.

To make sure they work flawlessly with the current systems, the e-gates are currently being tested.

He stated that nine of the 26 new e-gates would be placed in the departure area and seventeen in the arrival area.

In the past, BSI had 20 departure e-gates and 22 arrival e-gates.

The improvements are a component of continuous initiatives to shorten lengthy lines and increase travel effectiveness, particularly for everyday commuters on the Johor-Singapore border.

The 26 new electronic gates at the CIQ Complex, is set to be operational by 19th February 2025.
