Traditional Steamed Tiger Grouper at Imperial Paragon Cuisine

Chinese New Year is around the corner, and it is time to reunite with your loved ones and regroup with the ones that we have not seen in a while.

As this is my first time dining in the one-year-old Imperial Paragon Cuisine at the Grand Paragon Hotel, I had the privilege to have a taste of their Chinese New Year’s Annual Dinner Set.

I was impressed by the many VIP rooms that could cater to all sizes of groups. The magnificent design of the hall, with bamboo as their main theme, made the restaurant feel ethereal.

We were told that each room comes with a huge flat-screen TV and an audio system so diners could create their own ambience in the private space.

Our party of 10 people had the Annual Dinner Set 2, comprising of Salmon Ice Plant Yu Sheng, Braised Fin Soup with Crab Meat & Dried Scallop, Traditional Steamed Tiger Grouper, Fried Crispy Chicken with Bi Feng Tang Style, Golden Oatmeal Prawns, Abalone, Brocolli & Mushroom in Abalone Sauce, Braised Ee Fu Noodles with Assorted Treasure and Longan Tofu with Sea Coconut.

The Salmon Ice Plant Yu Sheng is an interesting dish to toss and welcome the year, with the crispy yet soft ice plant that would kick-off a discussion among your party while waiting for the warm pot of Braised Fin Soup with Crab Meat & Dried Scallop to arrive.

Meanwhile, the Fried Crispy Chicken with Bi Feng Tang Style is a memorable dish for me – the fried garlic with dried chilli covering the protein makes the crispy treats an instant favourite.

It’s also refreshing to round off the meal with Braised Ee Fu Noodles with Assorted Treasure from the usual fried rice. The soft noodles drenched with a lot of lucky food was fun for me to share with each other, especially the children.

Lastly, we had a sweet, chilled Longan Tofu with Sea Coconut, counting our nostalgia together over every sip and bites of the soft, chewy longan and sea coconut’s flesh. It was definitely a great way to end our reunion.

There are seven private rooms for you to choose from at Imperial Paragon Cuisine, subject to availability. Customers would get a complimentary parking, and you would also earn vouchers to dine on your next visit.

Chinese New Year’s Annual Dinner Set menus

The Set 2 that we’ve had is priced at RM1,288+ for 10 pax per table. With the privacy and entertainment at diners’ preferences, this is quite appealing when it comes to making merry for a celebration together. There are three sets, with the other two priced at RM1,188+ and RM1,488++ respectively, with different menus.
