In an effort to improve Johor’s education system and make it more progressive and competitive, the state government intends to open pilot schools by next year.

The initiative will be carried out in cooperation with the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ), according to Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, has emphasised the significance of a top-notch education, and this initiative is in line with his wishes.

“Special emphasis will be placed on mastering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as well as the English language.

“Initially, the programme will include two primary schools and two secondary schools, which are currently being selected by JPNJ,“ he said in a Facebook post today.

Onn Hafiz is optimistic about the Johor pilot school initiative’s potential to benefit the state going forward.
