Toppen Shopping Centre and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd have partnered to launch the Toppen Park and Ride initiative in response to the increasing traffic congestion along the Tebrau Highway that leads to the city centre of Johor Bahru.
By providing commuters with a convenient option, the Park and Ride service seeks to alleviate the increasing number of vehicles on Tebrau Highway. MyBAS Johor Bahru’s network operator, Handal Indah, has just introduced the myBAS T14 route, which uses the Tebrau Highway to link JB Sentral and Toppen Shopping Centre.
This collaboration provides a viable option for individuals commuting to the city centre or even those travelling to Singapore, easing their daily transportation burdens.
Sergey Aristarkhov, General Manager of Toppen, “We have over 5,000 parking bays available in Toppen. Commuters who choose myBas T14 can conveniently park their vehicles here without having to be concerned about the safety of their vehicles. Furthermore, Toppen is a one-stop-destination where we can offer those who park here added convenience through our supermarket offer, exciting F&B choices, entertainment, and other key essentials.
Through this park and ride service, Handal Indah is offering a special season pass for all commuters, where commuters could save up to 83% of their parking expenses compared to parking in the city centre.
A RM10 e-voucher will also be given to Manjalink Cardholders who apply for a Toppen season pass as an additional incentive for early birds.
Riduan Salleh, the Project Manager of myBAS Johor Bahru and Kumpool, says, “myBAS T14 route operates from 4:50 am to 9:50 pm, ensuring convenient access for the commuters.”
“Additionally, Kumpool support enhances accessibility by connecting residents to the myBAS T14 route from their housing areas for a minimal fee. Passengers can enjoy significant savings, with myBAS T14 fares up to 80% lower than e-hailing services, which are subject to fluctuating prices.”
On the other hand, myBAS Johor Bahru is launching 30 days of unlimited free rides via the Malaysian IC, or LUGO App for RM50. Following this, myBAS Johor Bahru also introduced the myBASKonsesi, which grants cardholders unlimited rides if they are senior citizens, students under the age of 17, or individuals with disabilities.
All ManjaLink counters in Johor Bahru offer the registration for all myBAS50 and myBASKonsesi.
