M Kumar is the New Johor Police Chief

Effective 23rd January 2024, M Kumar, the Deputy Chief of Police in Johor, has been named the new Chief of Police, holding the title of Acting Commissioner of Police (CP).

Alzafny Ahmad, the Secretary of Federal Police, announced that Afandi Senin, the Principal Assistant Director (administration/general policing) at the integrity division of the department of Integrity and Standards Compliance, Bukit Aman, would take over Kumar’s position as acting DCP.

“Seremban’s District Police Chief Arifai Tarawe will fill the position vacated by Afandi,” he said.

He claimed that this was a component of a national exchange programme involving 42 senior law enforcement officers.

Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad, the administrator of the Bukit Aman management department, has been appointed as the Director of the department responsible for Crime Prevention and Community Safety. Additionally, Kuala Lumpur Police College Commandant Anuar Othman has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Management (administration) at the Bukit Aman management department.

“Meanwhile, Deputy Kedah Police Chief Abu Samah Noor will fill the position of Kuala Lumpur Police College Commandant, while Kedah Criminal Investigation department Head Adzli Abu Shah will fill the vacancy left by Abu Samah with the rank of acting DCP,” he added.

Assistant Director Zahib Sabari of the Bukit Aman Special Branch E4 will assume the position of Principal Assistant Director of the Bukit Aman Special Branch E4, holding the rank of acting DCP, in the interim.
