Over RM290,000 Incentives Awarded to Johor State Athletes

State athletes’ stellar Achievement in Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Cambodia 2023 SEA Games earned them rewards from the State Government

The Johor State Government has allocated a total of RM291,000 for participation and victory incentive rewards to 67 Johor State athletes competing in the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia 2023, and 33 athletes competing in the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games through the Johor State Sports Council.

Ts. Mohd Ekmaluddin Ishak, Director of the Johor State Sports Council, delivered the incentive presentation ceremony, accompanied by Mohamad Syafiq bin Hassan, Assistant Director, High Performance and Sports Science Section.

According to Ts. Mohd Ekmaluddin Ishak, the incentive was announced as a token of gratitude and acknowledgement for the state’s athletes’ inspiring performances, which made the nation proud.

For the SEA Games incentives, a total of 44 Johor athletes received a total of RM118,000 in winning incentives, while 3 athletes received a total of RM12,000 in winning incentives from the Hangzhou Asian Games.

With a total of RM72,000 in incentives, canoe athletes took home the largest prize pool (18 athletes). Basketball sports came in second with RM14,500, and esports, athletics, and cricket followed with RM12,500 each.

Among the national athletes present at the event were Sureeya Sankar Hari Sankar (Karate), Mohd Aizat Nordin (Sepak Takraw), Muhammad Khairul Shaddad Ardi (Pencak Silat), and Umar Osman (Track and Field – 400 metres).

Mohd Hadi bin Abidi, Assistant Director of the Corporate and Finance section; Muhammad Ali Bin Abdul Karim, Assistant Director of the District Sports Excellence section; Natasha Eryna Binti Mohd Nasir, Assistant Director of the Strategic Communication section; and Taqiyuddin Bin Poniran, Assistant Director of the Sports Development section were also present at the banquet hall of the Sultan Ismail Building.
