A total contribution of RM1,536,000 was handed over to Her Royal Highness, Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim, at the TLJCF Lights of Hope Charity Dinner organised by the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF).
According to TLCJ’s statement, the donation was collected from 50 sponsors, consisting of government agencies, corporate companies, and individuals. The donation will be channelled to cancer fighters through medical aid, milk for special needs, general equipment and surgery aid, subsistence aid, fares to hospitals, and PET scan tests.
Dato’ Haji Ismail bin Karim, at the event as a member of the TLJCF Board of Directors; said that since its inception until October 2023, TLJCF has channelled aid to 3,620 cancer fighters by covering the cost of treatment and necessities amounting to RM11.2 million. “This amount can only be achieved with the support of sponsors who always support TLJCF’s efforts to ensure that cancer fighters get help to finance their treatment costs and needs,” he added.
Datin Sharmin Fazlina Mohd Shukor, wife of the Johor Menteri Besar, and Puan Sri Datin Dr Hajah Noor Azizah binti Abdul Latif, wife of the Johor Government Secretary, were also present at the ceremony held at the Main Hall of Iskandar Puteri City Council.
Other members of the TLJCF Board of Directors present were Dato’ Dr Mohd Khairi Yakub, Col. (B) Dato’ Mohamed Perang Haji Musa, Executive Director of TLJCF and other honoured guests.
Among the sponsors contributing to the Lights of Hope Charity Dinner were VFive Group, Office of the Johor Menteri Besar, Permodalan Darul Ta’zim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn. In addition to receiving a certificate of appreciation, the sponsors were also treated to a dinner and a special performance from Dato’ Jamal Abdillah, Dato’ Francissca Peter, the Darul Ta’zim Orchestra, and Yayasan Warisan Johor.
