Johor Port Authority Submits RM1 Million Zakat and Donations in 2023

The contribution were channelled through LPJ Cares CSR and LPJ Zakat Wakalah’s programmes to several institutions and organisations

The Johor Port Authority has committed up to RM 1 million in 2023 through the initiatives arranged under the LPJ CARES Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The Johor Port Authority has committed up to RM 1 million in 2023 through the initiatives arranged under the LPJ CARES Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme focuses on academic support for students, community service through local and international NGOs, and environmental protection. Through these projects, LPJ can ensure the balance of port development in accordance with the needs of the community and its surroundings.

The Johor Port Authority has also received RM1.6 million in Wakalah Zakat from the Johor State Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ) for zakat distribution to the designated asnaf, namely the extremely poor (fakir), the impoverished (miskin), and the fisabilillah. The total CSR and Wakalah Zakat transaction is RM855,482.00, which includes RM465,485.00 for the LPJ CARES CSR donation and RM389,997.00 for the LPJ Zakat Wakalah.

The LPJ CARES CSR donation includes RM100k for the Sultan Ibrahim Foundation (YSIJ), RM121k for MERCY Malaysia and RM226,985 for the Pasir Gudang District Education Office. 

The zakat submission in the form of Wakalah Distribution includes RM123,747 worth to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, RM81,800 worth to Sultanah Aminah Hospital Medical Social Work Department, RM27,200 worth to Sultan Ismail Johor Bahru Hospital, RM91,750.00 worth to PIJ Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd, RM33,700.00 worth to Malaysian Huffaz Association, RM15,000 to Johor Government’s Islamic Secondary School and RM16,800 worth to KRT Committee Taman Cendana Flats, Pasir Gudang.
