The Majestic Johor Festival 2022, one of the state government’s ways to raise the Johor brand as the ultimate tourism destination, has concluded after 11 days from the 8th until the 18th of September 2022. The first event of its kind organised this year, the festival was in line with Johor’s aim to position the state as a major tourism destination in the Asian region, and this festival was a catalyst to continue driving the state’s progress.

The festival was launched by Johor Menteri Besar, Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi on 11th September 2022.

Various events took place throughout this period which not only occurred at the festival site but also around the administrative area of ​​Iskandar Puteri City Council which were of international standards such as Fun Ride, Fun Run and Fishing Competition which took place in Sireh Park in addition to the Pahlawan Selatan International Muay Thai event  Championship at the Indoor Stadium of EDUCity, Tunku Laksamana Johor Golf Competition at Forest City Golf Resort, 4×4 Open Challenge & Joy Ride, Johor Idol Competition, BMX Racing, Pushbike and Pump Track Racing, Majestic Johor Betta Festival and many more.

The Mahkota Johor exhibition became an attraction for many visitors, registering a large number of visits of 80,000 people in 4 days. The Johor Crown Parade (Kembara Mahkota Johor), Battle of The Band, Performances by Yayasan Warisan Johor and Indian Cultural performances were also presented to the public.

Adding to the excitement and fun, the Majestic Johor Parade, featuring a colourful parade of 23 cultural and artistic groups, bands and high-powered and elite vehicles was held for the first time.

According to a statement released by Tourism Johor, the festival has the potential to indirectly drive economic growth in the state of Johor because it appears to have a broader business impact and economic potential for these small and medium-sized industrialists in the future. Participation by corporations such as Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Berhad (PUJB) in highlighting IKS products in the sales tent site by serving a variety of food and village products helped with the endeavour.

Johor Public Transport Corporation (PAJ) provided free bus shuttles service directly to the festival site as visitors were encouraged to park their vehicles in the parking lot provided around government buildings in Kota Iskandar.

The festival concluded with a concert performance by local artists that featured energetic performances from Bandi AMUK, Bumiputera Rockers BPR, Kuden and Fia Julia.
