Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB)’s three-hours car-free in the city has returned amid pre-endemic living

Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB)’s JB Wake Up! Car Free Day is returning to the city again after its recent effort organised in March 2022 for National Landscape Day at Taman Ekoflora Setia.

The periodical event organised for the city’s community was put on halt back in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the City Council Meeting’s statement dated 31st of May 2022, Dato ‘Haji Mohd Noorazam Dato’ Haji Osman, the Mayor of Johor Bahru said, “MBJB will be organising the JB Wake Up! Car Free Day on the 11th of June 2022 from 7.00 to 10.00 am in front of the MBJB Jalan Dato ’Onn Office.”

“Residents of the city are invited to join in a variety of activities, including jogging, walking, cycling, village leagues, exhibitions, and other family-friendly events,” he said.

The event was first organised in August 2018 according to the MBJB’s official website.
