RedRecords, a joint venture label between Universal Music Group and AirAsia Group, proudly announce their latest signing, the fast-rising Indonesian/Singaporean singer-songwriter, lullaboy.
lullaboy has been one of the most talked independent artists in Southeast Asia with his brand of captivating and tender pop music, having amassed millions of streams across the region.
lullaboy now makes the next big step in his career by signing with RedRecords. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the innovative label partnership focuses on developing and breaking new Asian artists and elevating ‘ASEAN-pop’ globally to regional and international audiences.
“I’ve always felt like I had the responsibility of giving others a chance to feel. Signing with RedRecords lets me be a part of something greater than myself and reach more people than I ever have. I’m ready to write my chapter in history and couldn’t be more blessed,” lullaboy shares.
lullaboy signed with RedRecords on 12 April 2022 in a momentous session at the Universal Music Singapore office attended by the label’s Southeast Asian figureheads, along with the CEO of RedRecords, Hassan Choudhury.
“RedRecords are both extremely excited and honoured that such an incredibly talented artist such as lullaboy has chosen us to be his global partner,” Choudhury says.
“When we set this label up with AirAsia and Universal Music Group, we dreamed of building a roster that would not only enjoy success in this region but amplify those artists to a global market. In lullaboy, we believe he is such an artist and simply can’t wait for the world to hear his new songs this Summer.”
Choudhury was joined by Calvin Wong (Chief Executive Officer, Universal Music Southeast Asia & Senior Vice President of Asia), Elvin Eng (Chief Financial Officer, Southeast Asia & Korea), Simon Nasser (Managing Director, Singapore & Head of Live, SEA), Wisnu Surjono (Managing Director of Universal Music Indonesia), Mahavira Wisnu Wardhana (Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Wonderland Records), and Kim Lim (Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia).
“We are beyond excited to welcome lullaboy to the Universal Music Group family. His music has resonated with so many across the region on such a deep level and we are thrilled to work with him on bringing his talent to bigger and brighter stages worldwide.” Wong says.
