The 13th Private & International School Fair in Johor held last Saturday at the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel attracted almost 600 visitors. Organised by Mint Communications, the Private & International School Fairs have been connecting parents and their children with leading international schools in Malaysia since 2012. Over the years, both local and expatriate parents have visited these fairs to learn more about the options in international schools and boarding opportunities for their children.
According to Nickie Yew, Co-Founder and Director of Mint Communications, “The large number of visitors who attended the fair last weekend reflects the continuous demand for international school education in Johor despite the pandemic’s effects on the economy. Parents in Johor who missed this fair can also visit the 14th Private & International School Fair in Johor in October 2022 or visit the Education Destination Malaysia website for information on international schools.”
The 13th Private & International School Fair in Johor adhered strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council. The organisers, exhibitors and visitors, including young children, wore face masks and practised physical distancing.
The fair provided an opportunity for visitors to find out more about the offerings by various international schools in one convenient location. Besides fee structures, curriculum pathways, teacher credentials and amenities provided, exhibitors also answered queries on preschools, primary and secondary school, pre-university courses and the option of boarding for their children. Many parents also booked visits to see the schools in the coming weeks.
Exhibitors at the fair included Austin Heights International School, Crescendo-HELP International School; IDRISSI International School, EduCity; International Islamic School Malaysia; Marlborough College Malaysia; Paragon Private & International School; R.E.A.L Schools, Permas Jaya Campus; Raffles American School; Repton International School; Shattuck-St Mary’s Forest City International School; Sunway International School, Sunway Iskandar; and Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens. The majority of these schools offer preschool, primary and secondary school, and pre-university programmes. Some of these schools even provide boarding facilities to students. Besides international schools, Kolej Yayasan UEM offering A-Level, MindChamps Preschool and Yamaha Music School also exhibited at the fair.
