As this special date will only happen once every 1000 years, 22.02.2022 has been marked as a historical and significant day, with Columbia Asia Hospital–Tebrau taking the opportunity to celebrate it with WOW Awards, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event for single mothers and commemorating babies delivered on the said date.
The WOW Awards is an in-house award presentation event for staff of CAH-Tebrau including Consultants for its 4th Quarter presentation. Prizes were given out this quarter to employees from four different departments to Izzati Zulkifli and Syakila Abdullah, staff nurses from Ambulatory Surgical Care, as well as Pharmacy staff Sarojini Thanaraju
and Nursing staff Matron Yapp Chun Shum. Dr Zul Zarihi Zainal, Consultant Anesthetist & Critical Care, received the award for Consultants. The awards were given in recognition of their remarkable performance and patient-centred services.
The hospital also carried out a CSR activity for single mothers in line with the company’s vision by visiting Pertubuhan Ibu Tunggal CARE Negeri Johor at Jalan Kebun, Johor Bahru.
The members of this group were between the ages of 50 and 60. There are now roughly 100 members in the Johor district. The hospital provided 32 packs of goodie bags filled with basic food necessities.
The hospital also honoured the Year of the Tiger with six adorable newborns who made their roaring entrance into the world.
Four boys and two girls were successfully delivered to six couples through C-section and natural birth, under the supervision of Resident Consultant Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Dr Suresh Subramaniam and Dr Eliza Mohd Noor as well as Visiting Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Dr Tan Jui Sing.
Saw Mei Xing, 25, and her husband, Wong Jo You, 29, welcomed a 3kg baby girl exactly at 2.02 pm on 22.02.2022 through natural birth.
The hospital surprised the families with gifts to honour the occasion. The Regional General Manager, Puan Rahani Yaacob, presented each of them with a congratulatory hamper.
