The announcement of Mixed Income Housing (MIH) and the Document Exchange Ceremony by Iskandar Capital Sdn. Bhd (Iskcap) was held in Iskandar Puteri, Johor today. The ceremony was officiated by Dato’ Haji Mohammed Ridha, Deputy State Secretary of Johor (Development) as the representative of the state of Johor. The MIH project will be developed in Wawari, a 3,000 acres sustainable development by Iskcap.
In his speech, Mohammed Ridha highlighted the importance of close collaboration between the Johor Government and the private sector in realising the agenda of the state. “I am very pleased with IIB Group’s effort to understand the aspiration of the Johor Government and embark on an inclusive and sustainable project such as the Mixed-Income Housing in Wawari, Iskandar Puteri,” he said.
“Infrastructure development must be balanced with social development such as talent building, job creation and mindset transformation to prepare Johoreans for future development. The MIH project is a perfect example of ensuring holistic development and harmonious living of integrated communities.”
Iskandar Investment Berhad President/CEO, Datuk Khairil Anwar Ahmad, who is also the Chairman of Iskandar Capital Sdn Bhd, echoed the above and said, “The MIH is a model that promotes fair, equitable, inclusive and affordable housing for all income levels in Johor. Through this initiative, the low income (B40) and middle-income group (M40) can be neighbours living in one community. Iskcap is committed to continuing in supporting the state government in safeguarding the interest of the local community and increasing the number of home-ownership among Johoreans.”
MIH is a well-connected community with green infrastructure, modern facilities, and high-quality services. MIH’s facilities will incorporate rainwater collecting, solar panels, greenspaces, and canopy trees. The Rumah Mampu Biaya Johor (RMBJ), widely known as Value Homes, has been developed into MIH RMBJ (VH). The project is an enhanced version of the RMBJ, also known as Value Homes and Value Plus Homes, and focuses on a broader target population ranging from low to medium income (VPH).
The first MIH project near Kota Iskandar and Medini City will be carried out in partnership with Shiya Development Sdn Bhd, a Bumiputera-owned company.
Development of the first MIH project will commence in 2023 and is expected to complete in 2026.
