The beginning of the New Year 2022 is a joyous occasion for millions of people across the world, and two couples at Columbia Asia Hospital-Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) this year welcomed their new additions to the family at the start of the year.
The arrival of a newborn marks a new beginning in every sense of the word, especially for first time mother Teo Yi Ling, 25, a beautician. On 1st January 2022, at 9.28 am, she gave birth to a healthy and lovely baby girl weighing 2.77 kilogrammes. Neo Wye Nyap, 28, an F&B supervisor from Taman Serimbun, Johor Bahru, was overjoyed because they would be able to celebrate their daughter’s birthday each year on New Year’s Day. The couple expressed their gratitude to everyone at CAH-IP for ensuring that everything went smoothly for them.
Another couple felt similarly as Sharon Chea Jing Shuen, a 23-year-old housewife, gave birth to her second child at 9.27 am. She and her husband, Marvin Lye Wen Ye, 25, a salesman, were bestowed with a 3.50kg baby boy. The parents from Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru, considered themselves lucky that their child was born on such a significant day and was grateful for the baby’s safe and healthy birth.
Dr Rajesh Mahendran Radha Krishnan, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Dr Quek Yek Song, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, and Dr Azhar Napis, Consultant Pediatrician, were in charge of all the moms and newborns, with the help of CAH-well-trained IP’s midwives and nurses.
“What a way to start the New Year, despite 2021 having been a challenging year for all of us. We felt excited for all the parents at the new arrivals of their bundles of joy, but most importantly was the safe delivery for the mothers. At CAH-IP, we have a passion for making people better and our mission is to deliver the best clinical outcomes in the most effective, efficient and caring environment for our patients. I am also glad to inform that CAH-IP will be celebrating its 12th anniversary this year,” said Dr Ding Eng Li, General Manager of the hospital.
