The state government will continue to support the tourism industry and its ecosystem through various incentives as announced in the Johor Budget 2022.
Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Mohammad said the incentive will be able to help the industry to rebound after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we all know, the tourism industry and services sector are some of the main contributors to Johor’s economy, and currently, we cannot sit still and hope that the sector will recover on its own”.
“As presented in the Johor Budget 2022, the state government will continue to support the tourism industry through various incentives,” he said while officiating the opening of the Four Points by Sheraton Desaru.
Hasni is also optimistic that in 2022, Johor’s economy will recover, especially when the country’s borders begin to be opened in stages.
“We are optimistic that 2022 will be a year of growth for all sector economies in Johor.
“As the international borders are slowly reopening and movement is no longer restricted as before, Johor hopes that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will recover and the unemployment rate will decrease,” he said.
Hasni has said that the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Desaru would help bring Desaru to a newer height as the preferred holiday destination to all.
