The chairman of the state Housing and Local Government Committee, Ayub Jamil said the manufacturing sector would be allowed to operate at the rate of complete vaccination of its workers, and the permission based on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the National Security Council (MKN).
“The Johor local authority (PBT) allows any industrial sector involving the manufacturing sector to operate throughout the state as per the rulings and SOPs issued by the NSC. There is no question of waiting for permission to operate again after reaching a complete vaccination rate of 50% of the adult population in the state as 51.5% have received their second dose,” he said in a statement.
According to Ayub, the maximum operating capacity is determined by the employees’ immunisation rate.
For example, he said, if the complete vaccination rate of the employees is 40%, then the company is only allowed to operate with a capacity of 60% of employees only.
“Meanwhile, a complete vaccination rate of 60% is allowed to operate with a capacity of 80% of employees and a complete vaccination rate of 80% is allowed to operate with a full capacity of 100%,” he said.
According to him, the RTK Antigen test must also be performed on employees every two weeks at the cost borne by the employer.
Ayub also reminded that individuals who have been fully vaccinated are those who have met the criteria that their second dose has passed the 14th day for the type of vaccine that requires two doses of injection (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sinovac).
For the type of vaccine that only requires one dose of injection (Johnson & Johnson and CanSino), he said, the individual must have passed the 28th day from the date of injection.
“We would like to emphasise to employers and workers in the manufacturing sector to always comply with the SOPs in the workplace and meet the conditions set before resuming operations so that the safety of workers and the workplace is guaranteed,” he said.
