The state of Johor has acquired 100,000 COVID-19 antigen self-test kits, which will be distributed throughout the state.

In a statement on his official Facebook page yesterday, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, said the self-test kits may increase screening capacity and make COVID-19 cases more immediately detectable.

“If we want to attain herd immunity as soon as possible, we need to boost ‘Test, Trace, and Vaccinate,” he stated.

Apart from identifying hotspot locations, Tunku Ismail said the self-test kits would aid in attempts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

At the time of writing, Johor recorded 1054 new cases with overall cases in the country recording at 17,170.
