Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) is expediting efforts to aid the community under its jurisdiction during the implementation of full movement control order (FMCO).
Dato’ Haji Adib Azhari bin Daud Datuk Bandar Johor Bahru, Mayor of Johor Bahru in his speech for 6th full council monthly meeting stated that under the state’s Pakej Rangsangan Ekonomi (PRE) Ihsan Johor 3.0 stimulus package, RM126.86 million worth of aid will be given one-off to affected Johor recipients including those in the M40 bracket.
i-Insentif Lesen and i-Penjaja
MBJB has advertised on the incentive system or i-Insentif Lesen for the purpose of collecting data and information on barbers and hair saloons till 25 June. A similar exercise was also done for the i-Penjaja system to gather information and data on hawkers operating under the MBJB boundaries.
The information collected will be channelled to the State Government for the purpose of providing one-off assistance RM500 as announced in PRE Ihsan Johor 3.0, subject to State Government approval.
Vaccination to Achieve Herd Immunity
MBJB together with Southern Volunteers Johor Bahru have helped residents to register in MySejahtera to get the vaccine. As of June 26th, 30 locations were visited, and a total of 3,926 people were registered.
The Vaccination Registration programme will run till 23rd July, 2021.
The Mayor also called on Councillors to work with resident committees to further strengthen efforts to register residents from surrounding housing areas to be vaccinated.
Transit Centre
To come up with a holistic solution to the homeless predicament, the city will be building a Transit Center at Taman Larkin Perdana. The center will be a 2-storey building complete with office space, treatment room, living room, dining area, infirmary and a surau. Read our full report about the centre here.
The mayor concluded his speech by informing that all main counters and MBJB branches are temporarily closed due to the extension of Phase One of National Recovery Plan, except for the MBJB Enforcement Department Counter service at the MBJB Building Jalan Dato ’Onn.
