Mohd Solihan said in his speech that the partnership between the government authority, LPJ, local conglomerate MMC Corporation Berhad, and port operator PTP demonstrated the best synergy between private business entities and government authorities in spurring the state’s and nation’s economic growth, as well as elevating the community’s standard of living through its various outreach programmes.

About 20 volunteers from PTP and LPJ has worked closely with the village’s representatives in distributing the Hari Raya aid to the recipients

LPJ Chairman, Rosnan Bin Fathlal remarked that part of LPJ’s annual CSR program includes activities to engage and serve the underprivileged within PTP and Johor Port areas.

“The programme jointly organised with PTP for example, is to reach out to those in need within the villages nearby and help to ease their burden, not only during Ramadhan but as also they prepare for Hari Raya. As the port grows and continues to be successful, it is important that the community surrounding it is not forgotten”, he added.

Reflecting his LPJ’s counterpart, PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen elaborates that since the port commenced its operation in 2000, PTP has been at the forefront to champion social causes by investing resources into taking care of the sustainability of its community and environment respectively.

“Just like in 2020, the programme focuses on providing aid and support to those struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic. We really hope that the little help that we are extending will bring about some relief to the beneficiaries of the programme during the Hari Raya season”.

“PTP and LPJ worked closely with all Head of Villagers in distributing the aid to recipients without jeopardising their safety. It was important for all of us involved to swiftly distribute to ensure the aid was procured and transported in a timely and safe manner, “he added.

Penghulu of Mukim Tanjung Kupang, Mohammad Faiz Bin Mohd Pandi, expresses the gratitude of the local community to PTP & LPJ for continuing to help the local Gelang Patah community, especially during the festive season and the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
