Care United Johor Bahru (CUJB) were able to double their food aid hamper in value despite the pandemic with the help of Nitro Granite by Ceramic Group (Niro Granite) that had gotten in touch with the NGO since January 2021. Due to change of rules as the second Movement Control Order (MCO) was imposed, the aid was delayed from time to time and finally went through for their 3rd Food Aid Distribution for the year 2021 on 12th April for 100 needy students of SJK(T) Pasir Gudang at Taman Kota Masai.

Gathered by the school’s Assistant Principal, Sivananthan Rajagopal and jointly-organised with Mahendran Subramaniam the secretary of MIC Tebrau, the aid hand over was done with 10 student’s families to maintain social distancing while the rest of the families will have their food hamper delivered (within that week) to them. Each food hamper consisted of a 10kg pack of rice, canned sardine, cooking oil, Milo, evaporated milk, flour, peanuts, 2 packs of rice vermicelli and anchovies, costing about RM163. The selection of items was based on basic grocery needs and also to provide more protein for the recipients.
