Her Majesty the Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, reminds those suffering from the pandemic that there is a silver lining despite the difficulties they might be facing through Royal Johor’s social media post on 9th April 2021.
“We cannot overlook the fact that many Malaysians have been affected by this pandemic. However, it has taught us to reconsider our priorities – what matters most is our wellbeing, our families, and our friends.
“At the same time, we must remember the suffering of those who have lived in war-torn countries for many years, such as Syria and Palestine, as well as those living in refugee camps. We should be grateful that we live in a peaceful country at the very least.
“Let us get through this pandemic by supporting one another and believing in Allah’s hikmah (wisdom) in the midst of our difficulties,” Her Majesty said.
Her Majesty was making this statement during a webinar session hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with over 50 participants titled “Coping With the Pandemic” where staff and students from UTM, as well as professionals from different fields, were among the attendees.
“I decided to have this conversation to hear from lecturers and students about how they are dealing with life during the pandemic.
Her Majesty continued, “I am proud of the commitment and care that UTM has shown to the students, especially the international students who are unable to be with their families.”
