Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) declared on 17th December 2020 at the JDT Headquarters a historic collaboration with international organisation UNICEF to collect funds for the betterment of children.
First in the region
The collaboration with UNICEF is the first of its kind in the region and will continue to raise awareness of children’s needs. UNICEF works to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be healthy and happy, to live safely and to reach their full potential.
JDT also works on corporate social responsibility programmes to give back to society, having recently confirmed a variety of foreign commercial collaborations that are intended to produce an income for the club.
“The most important aspect in a successful organisation is its human values,” said HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor.
“As an organisation, we are very successful commercially. So for the 2021 season it is very important to ensure we do not lose touch with our roots and our human perspective as an organisation.
“We are proud to announce that JDT has secured a partnership with the world’s largest organisation for the betterment of children, UNICEF. This partnership is the first of its kind between a football club and UNICEF in the region.”

Always a Humanitarian
With numerous aids for flood and earthquake victims in Johor, Penang, Pahang, Sabah and more, JDT has always been swift to demonstrate their humanitarian arm.
In this COVID-19 pandemic, the JDT players and officials have donated a portion of their salaries to the Johor Disaster Fund, while the club donated all proceeds from the 2019 JDT All-Stars Friendly to the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, Women’s Aid Organisation, and Malaysia’s National Cancer Society.
On the front of the 2021 jerseys, the Southern Tigers may also bear the logo of UNICEF.
