Columbia Asia Hospital–Iskandar Puteri Welcomes Bundles of Joy on Merdeka

While our nation celebrated the 63rd National Day on 31st August 2020, it was a bundle of joy for three mothers who gave birth to their babies on this historic day at Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) Johor.

First-time mother Teo Ming Li, 28, an account executive from Johor Bahru was expecting to deliver her very first baby on 2nd September 2020, instead she gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl, weighing 3.17kg on 31st August 2020 at 8.54pm. Her husband, Ong Jia Sin, 30, who is an auditor, felt honoured because they will celebrate their daughter’s birthday on Malaysia’s National Day every year.

Meanwhile, Nur Amirah Ishak, 31, a physiotherapist gave birth to her third child at 11.27pm, and she was thrilled with the early delivery as she was initially scheduled to give birth on 15th September 2020. She and her husband, Mohamad Mustaqim Esa, 31, a teacher, were blessed with the arrival of their baby boy, weighing 3.68kg on such a significant day.

Another couple from Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai, Johor, housewife Nazira Johar, 34, and Real Estate Negotiator husband, Muhammad Afiq Ahmad, 29, welcomed a healthy 3.46kg baby girl. She was admitted to CAH-IP on 30th August 2020 and delivered the baby on 31st August 2020 at 11.06am. They felt so grateful for the baby’s healthy and safe delivery. The couple thanked everyone at CAH-IP for making sure everything went smoothly for them.

The delivery stages for all the babies were smooth and without complications. All mothers and babies were well under the care of Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Dr. Rohaini Md Jonit; Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Dr. Quek Yek Song and Consultant Pediatrician, Dr. Victor Gong Hee Hung assisted by well-trained midwives and nurses. All families received a gift pack from the hospital filled with heartwarming notes.
