After going through days of Movement Control Order (MCO) that managed to flatten the curve of COVID-19 infection in Malaysia, we are now at Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase, where the nation is working on regenerating the economy back which brings in the need to adjust the industry around, to find the best of ways in optimising manpower, resources and receive decent if not similar outcome like pre-pandemic time.

Iskandar Malaysia held a webinar to discuss the issue under the subject “Consumers Behavioural Changes Post COVID-19” with the Iskandar Malaysia’s main key players representatives like Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA)’s Director of Economic Prosperity, Engku Ahmad Kamel, Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB)’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Ahmad Fadzli Zainuddin and Port Tanjung Pelepas (PTP)’s Chief Executive Officer, Marco Nielsen with UN Global Compact (UNGC) Malaysia’s Executive Director, Faroze Nadar moderating the online seminar.

The free for all webinar discussion gave viewers an idea from the point of view of IRDA, IIB and PTP, that change is inevitable. IRDA’s Engku Ahmad Kamel said every business needs to make changes accordingly to stand as reliable for partners and customers. IIB’s Fadzli supported the need for change with the evidence that customers are now looking for a smaller size office space in their buildings now that everyone goes online.  Marco also added that PTP in its 20 years of experience as an essential service industry provider has always been prepared to face the challenges that comes with the COVID-19 pandemic where some plans are accelerated ahead of the original ones that were initially spearheading.
