This RAHMAH Sales Programme which ran on different dates for different locations in Johor is said to have benefited more than 903 households, with a record sales value of over RM21 million.

Hajah Fuziah Binti Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, conducted a walkabout session at the 2023 RAHMAH Kasih Sayang Bangsa Johor Carnival Programme held at the Pasir Gudang City Stadium Grounds, Johor.

The carnival has offered more than 40 items by getting a discount involving daily necessities such as sugar, packet cooking oil, flour, chicken eggs, fish, chicken, rice, fruits, vegetables, and others. Furthermore, the participation of 20 food truck dealers offered a variety of RAHMAH menu sales with a price offer of RM5.00 for each selected menu dish throughout the programme.

Simultaneously, the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign (KBBM) is underway, with the goal of empowering and assisting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses and introducing locally produced products to the market. This time, 30 small and medium entrepreneurs from the states of Melaka, Selangor, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the Johor Craft Complex, the Johor State Entrepreneurs Corporation, and KEJORA participated in KBBM.

The government’s efforts in expanding the Retail Digitalisation Initiative Programme (Retail Digitalisation Initiative, – ReDI) also received the support and cooperation of Pasir Gudang City Council, Bank Negara Malaysia Johor State Branch, Touch N Go, and Maybank to hold advocacy sessions and register traders around the City of Pasir Gudang towards cashless payment through the e-wallet application as an alternative option for users.

During the advocacy period, which began on 1st December 2023, a total of 300 traders were successfully registered. This advocacy session will last until 31st December 2023, and it is expected that 1,000 traders in the Pasir Gudang City area will benefit from the Retail Sector Digitisation Initiative.

KPDN would like to invite and encourage more industry players, particularly hypermarkets and supermarkets, so that they can work together to achieve the government’s goal of assisting the people.

Following that, the KPDN expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all parties involved for their ongoing commitment to the success of the RAHMAH Kasih Sayang Bangsa Johor Carnival Programme.
