Take your next dining experience to The Mesh Restaurant at Four Points by Sheraton Desaru

For any travellers, experiencing a hotel is always about good hospitality and of course, the food. This month, we took a short drive to Four points by Sheraton Desaru and checked out The Mesh Restaurant which is introducing new dishes, each with its own little surprise!

I always felt that the air in Desaru is refreshing maybe because of the beach and tucking into The Mesh Salad as an appetiser was a perfect starter as the fresh tuna chunks are of curried spice that simply melts in the mouth coupled with crunchy asparagus and savoury granola to chew on.

After a great start, I then simply could not resist the Lobster Roll which was the Flathead Lobster and Ebiko in a Brioche. Being of one The Mesh’s handcrafted specialities, the light and fluffy but filling bite is your answer for when the ‘not too sure on what to eat’ comes up at the table.

As I was accompanied by some friends, we had a heated discussion on what Kolok Mee actually looked like and was pleasantly happy to experience the correct version that is cooked with Chicken Dumplings, a side of Chicken Char Siew and lovely, springy Egg Noodles.

Want to satiate your Asian palate? Steamed Jasmine Rice has its perfect pair for you – the Sichuan Eggplant Beef for those who love spicy and Sweet Tofu, Choy Sum and Sichuan cooked beef.

After working out an appetite for good food that never stopped, we got served with the Grill Selection with ingredients from both land and sea! The seafood enthusiasts enjoyed the crustacean choices of Fresh Water Prawns and Flathead Lobsters while I dug into the Angus Ribeye, Rack of Lamb, Salmon and Snapper filet.

There is this celebrated East meets West dish with an adorable backstory on how it is made, remember to ask the chef for the story, and he will be happy to share it with you. The Mesh’s crown jewel; the 24-hour Slow Braised Short Ribs with Pomme Puree and Charred Kai Lan that at the dip of my fork, the meat fell apart and when scooped into the mouth with fluffy Pomme Puree, the taste was just unforgettable; in fact, I can still taste it in my mouth as I am writing this!

Despite all the good food, don’t forget to end your meal with their signature TSP (Tau Sar Piah) Cheesecake, which is a freshly baked dessert with Mung Beans crust!
