The start of the New Year is a great time for millions of people around the world and in Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) this year, seven couples celebrated the New Year by welcoming their new additions to the family on this auspicious day.
The arrival of a newborn marks a new beginning in every sense of the word especially for first- time mother Ana Shuhada Parman, 28, gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl, weighing 3.37kg on 1st January 2021 at 5.00pm. Her husband, Azrul Azwan Rosidan, 30, a businessman said he felt happy because they will celebrate their daughter’s birthday on New Year’s Day, every year.
The first baby that was born in the hospital on New Year’s day was a baby boy, weighing 3.33kg at 3.52am. Mother Indhra Chandran, 39, a teacher is happy by the arrival of her son. Father, Saravanan Selvarajoo, 42, a businessman thanked the doctor, nurses and the hospital for the excellent service and hospitality.
Meanwhile, Ooi Chia Ying, 28, a housewife, gave birth to her first child baby at 2.53pm. She and her husband, Pang Chai Chee, 35, an interior designer was blessed with a 2.93kg baby boy. Housewife Shervinjeet Kaur, 34, and husband Manraj Singh Bhart, 35, a businessman celebrated the arrival of their first child after seven years of waiting, a cute baby girl weighing 3.03kg was delivered at 7.07pm. They felt grateful for the baby’s healthy and safe delivery at the hospital.
On the other hand, Mok Phooi Yan, 26, housewife and Sales Manager husband, Foo Yun Hoe, 29, were overwhelmed by the arrival of their second child, a baby boy weighing 3.30kg. The couple were thrilled and blessed that their baby arrived on such a significant day.
Another couple from Taman Johor Jaya, Johor, Lee Su Ting, 29, and husband, Tan Kar Wai, 32, a Manager, welcomed a baby boy. She was admitted to CAH-IP on the same day and delivered the baby at 8.47am. The couple thanked everyone at CAH-IP for making sure everything went smoothly for them. Marketing Manager Loh Yu Ting Pamela, 36, and businessman husband Koh Jyh Yng, 44 from Taman Perling Johor was overjoyed by the arrival of their third child, a baby boy, weighing 2.82kg.
All mothers and babies are doing well under the care of Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologists Dr Rohaini Md Jonit, Dr Rajesh Mahendran Radha Krishnan, and Dr Quek Yek Song together with Consultant Pediatrician Dr Victor Gong Hee Hung and Dr Razlina Johari. The consultants were assisted by well-trained midwives and nurses of CAH-IP.
“What a way to start the New Year despite 2020 having been a challenging year for all of us. We felt excited for all the parents at the new arrivals of their bundles of joy, but most importantly was the safe delivery of the mothers. All families received a gift pack from the hospital filled with heartwarming notes.
