Shopee, a well-known brand in the e-commerce sector, has unveiled an intriguing new function called ShopeeFood! It is not surprising that Shopee has announced this new function, which will help you satisfy your food cravings by using the Shopee app to order meals from your favourite restaurants, given how the app world is revolutionising the food delivery industry.
When ShopeeFood’s PR team got in touch with us, we decided to give it a try and order lunch for our office staff using the newly launched feature. The Shopee app platform is very easy to use and similarly, the ShopeeFood function was just as seamless.
User Experience
For our app/food review, we decided to try out a favourite local eatery of ours which is none other than AnMour Café. Founded in 2011, AnMour Café offers quality American dishes at an affordable price. Our past experience of dining in at AnMour Café has always been memorable but this will be out first tapao or takeaway option and we were all looking forward to the experience with mixed feelings!
As we are frequent users of other food delivery apps, so the expectation was the same that the new kid on the block; ShopeeFood must be on par right from ordering our food to making payment. We were pleased to learn that the functionality of the app was acceptable and the process of placing our orders was straight forward with uncomplicated interfaces.
Being frequent Shopee users, we made payment for our order via ShopeePay. After a short wait, a rider was ‘found’ and our order was confirmed! The food delivery experience offered by ShopeeFood was pleasant and the waiting time was fairly acceptable. Everyone appreciates good service with a smile and our delivery rider did just that with pleasant mannerism and taking the effort to interact.
Food, glorious food
We decided to mix and match the dishes and ordered their signature Rosemary Lamb Chop, Garlic Prawn Pasta, Creamy Chilli Clam Sauce with Mantao Buns and the Chef’s Signature Cheesy Chicken Orbs. The packaging was well thought off by the restaurant with toppings and sauces packed in separate containers. The food was still warm, and after taking the mandatory insta photos, we decided to dig in!
Our appetizer was this – rich in flavour – Cheesy Chicken Orbs which came with a generous amount of smoky BBQ sauce. The chunky pieces of chicken infused with oozing cheese were a delightful treat to start of the big meal that was awaiting us.
Western food lovers can never get enough of lamb chops. The rosemary lamb chop was perfectly cooked and the sides consisting of potato wedges, coleslaw and bun complemented the meal well. The lamb, most importantly was juicy and flavourful and it was a great dish overall.
This easy fusion pasta dish has all the ingredients for a successful meal – spaghetti, garlic and prawns. This dish was so delicious with the sauce and the huge prawns were so fresh and juicy; it was an easy winner from the first bite.
Clams cooked in creamy and spicy sauce with a tangy taste and mantao buns to dip it into is a treat any day. The clams were fresh, properly cooked and the portion was perfect for a few of us to dig in.
The overall experience of using the ShopeeFood app and enjoying our AnMour Café takeaway meal was indeed exhilarating. Our taste palettes were fully satisfied from the culinary expertise of the restaurant and the ease of ordering it made it all the more memorable.
