Sixty children from two children’s homes, Persatuan Kebajikan Al-Zaraffe Johor and Rumah Kebajikan Baitul Maghrifah, were treated to an exclusive flying experience by a local flying club in the spirit of the Christmas season.
The children experienced an exhilarating 20 minutes in the air at about 1,000 feet above ground within the Senai Airport area.
Aside from that, other guests in attendance were treated to a wide variety of activities at the hangar which included a large bouncy house for the children, lucky draws, and lunch.
This is the sixth year that FRAS is organising this Christmas charity event and which is open to all organisations from all religions and races.
“The goal at FRAS Flying Club is to make the children’s dream of flying come true. The younger generation is our future, and with aviation being previously seeming like a faraway dream, we wish to bridge the gap and give everyone the opportunity to fly,” said Datuk Abdul Karim Alavi, Chairman of FRAS Flying Club.
Part of the goal is also to introduce the wonderful world of aviation to young and eager mavericks by launching FRAS Young Aviators Program, which will be launched in 2020.
