Kompleks Warisan Sultan Abu Bakar (KWSAB) has reached its final phase of refurbishment involving an allocation of more than RM5.6 million and is expected to open to the public this June.
In a statement, Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has said that the complex is a destination that highlights the traditions, arts and culture of the Johor people in a livelier and more interactive atmosphere.
“Visitors have the opportunity to witness the beauty of the state’s heritage through various cultural performances such as Zapin, Chinese dance, Indian dance and Orang Asli performances that reflect the diversity and harmony of the Johor community.”
“In addition, this complex also features traditional Bangsa Johor garments, Art Gallery, Weaving Gallery as well as traditional game experiences that provide an opportunity for visitors, especially the younger generation, to better understand the cultural roots, history and identity of this state,” he added.

In the same statement, it is said that various Johor heritage dishes such as Laksa Johor, Kacang Pool, Mee Rebus and many more would be served at Rasa Johor stall which brings together the uniqueness of local flavors.
“Hopefully, the opening of this complex will not only revive Johor’s cultural heritage, but also become a catalyst for local economic growth, thus attracting more tourists to the state, especially in conjunction with Visit Johor Year 2026,” he concluded the statement.
