RM1Mil Collected from Laksamana Neon Run 2022 First Charity Run

Over 5000 participants joined the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation’s first physical run

Laksamana Run organised by the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF) held its first physical run namely the Laksamana Neon Run 2022 has collected over RM1Million this year.

Previously organised virtually, the event was graced by Her Highness Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim as the Royal Patron for this event since 2017, and 5,500 participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia joined for both physical and virtual run categories since the registration opened on 14th May 2022.

This year’s Laksamana Run offered both physical and virtual run categories and its 5KM night run was held at Dataran Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru.

Within 6 years since its inauguration, 17,500 participants from Malaysia Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia have registered for the Run.

“Besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, this programme aims to collect funds through sponsorship packages which will be contributed by corporate organisations. Among the platinum package sponsors were the Johor State Government, Johor Corporation and Group of Companies, Lotte Chemical Titan (M) Sdn Bhd, Berjaya Corporation Berhad and Ranhill SAJ. Where RM1,045,000.00 was collected from this year’s event, making the total amount of RM4.45 million collected since 2017,” said TLJCF Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Ikmal Izam Zaini

Private companies that made their contribution to the event include Southern XMedia, Durio PPE Sdn Bhd, Nando’s Chickenland Malaysia Sdn Bhd, JA Venture and Johor Public Transportation (PAJ).

Official partners for the event were JomRun and Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri with Best FM as the official radio station and Ultron Sdn Bhd as the official apparel partner while MOMA also contributed official drinking water for this event.

35 prizes worth RM70,000 including an iPhone 13, smartwatch, treadmills and staycation vouchers at luxury hotels in Johor were given out to the participants through a lucky draw.
