Joland Group through Paragon Market Place in collaboration with TF Value-Mart Hypermarket (the organisers), is supporting the community initiative; #benderaputih (#whiteflag), by donating essential food kits to underprivileged households and/or individuals that are affected financially by Movement Control Order (MCO) due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the nation.

This campaign will see the contribution of RM10,000 worth of essential food items distributed to 200 selected pre-registered underprivileged households and/or individuals residing within a 10km radius from Paragon Market Place at Jalan Tampoi, Johor Bahru. The essential food kits will be distributed to them in stages from the 10th of July 2021.

Each household and/or individual will receive an essential food kit consisting of basic needs such as rice, eggs, flour, rice vermicelli, canned food, biscuits and etc.

Joland Group Executive Director, Dato’ Sri Godwin Tan Pei Poh, said, “The recent round of lockdowns has rendered more people struggling to make ends meet. Inspired by the community initiative;#benderaputih, this is the first time we worked hand in hand with Paragon Market Place’s anchor tenant TF Value-Mart to distribute essential food kits via this CSR campaign.”

“We received about 100 registrations within a few days and we encourage those in need to register with us. We would also like to take this opportunity to call upon those who wish to participate to contribute to our food bank in Paragon Market Place,” he added.

“There’s no denying that the construction industry has been hit hard, and we are no exception. The construction works at our upcoming project at Taman Suria, Johor Bahru, had to stop due to the current MCO too. Notwithstanding a difficult operating environment, we hope this small gesture will temporarily help to alleviate the burdens of these underprivileged households and/or individuals,” said Goodwin.

This campaign is only implemented for a limited period and area as it is subjected to adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) at this time. However, the organisers hope to help as much as they can.

To make this CSR campaign reach out to more people, Paragon Market Place has added a Food Bank counter. The public can donate essential food items and deliver them to Paragon Market Place’s management office.

Those in need or those with friends or relatives who are facing food shortages can fill up the Google form and complete the application form or WhatsApp the details to 019-563 0638.
