Regency Specialist Hospital (Regency) celebrated their Lunar New Year festivities with government dignitaries, corporate and insurance partners, media friends and members of the community to a hearty lunch at Opero Hotel, Southkey on the 2nd of February 2023.
Dr Gan See Khem, Executive Chairman of HMI Group and Chin Wei Jia, Managing Director and Group CEO of HMI Group attended the event together with Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Jeevan Singh, Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Johor Bahru, Andreza Dasuki Consul of the Indonesian Consulate General, Dr Solhaa Mohd Mahfdzuz, Johor State’s Director of Health Department and Low Kueck Shin, Chairman of Johor Bahru Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
“Looking back at 2022, Regency has made great strides and accomplished a lot throughout the year – from introducing a new Centre of Excellence known as the Diabetes Care Unit with Dr Luqman joining us from UMMC, to the Roof Topping Off Ceremony of our New Hospital Block, and the launching of a fully equipped Training Centre for continuous upskilling of our nurses and allied health team,” Serena Yong, Regency Specialist Hospital’s CEO in her welcoming speech said.
She included that Regency has introduced new technologies and welcomed new doctors specialising in various disciplines including Paediatrics, and Developmental Paediatrics, Gastro-Intestinal, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Neuro Interventional Radiology) and Vascular & Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology.
“Regency is also known to have the most interventional radiologists in Johor as we believe in its many benefits for patients such as less pain, lower risks and shorter recovery time when compared to traditional surgery,” she added.
In efforts to further our outreach, we also restarted our physical events covering meaningful topics from physical fitness to mental health for healthcare professionals, corporate partners, and the community as a whole to raise awareness. After all, prevention is better than cure! And not forgetting our regular CSR activities to aid the underprivileged community.
The hospital has recently bagged the Healthcare Asia Awards in 2 categories, an Employee Experience Award, and a Human Resources Excellence Award and successfully received 4-year accreditation of the 5th Edition MSQH Standard.
Stating that the health institution is steadfast in achieving its vision to be the hospital of the future, they have continued to forge strategic alliances with industry players to keep up with technological advancement and very soon will be officially launching the Artis Q Biplane, a high-performance angiography system for complex heart diseases and interventional treatment for heart attack and stroke patients.
“Besides digital progression, we are constantly upgrading our spaces for better care. We will be launching a new day-care unit in the coming months to manage the increased demand for day-care surgeries.”
“We have grown by leaps and bounds. This year, we will be celebrating our 14th anniversary and look forward to marking this milestone with our people and the community,” she concluded.
