PwC has marked a new phase in its Johor Bahru journey with the recent opening of its new, purpose-built office, an important milestone that mirrors the city’s own transformation and growing contribution to the Southern region’s progress.
The move from Menara Ansar to its new office at MVS South Tower, Mid Valley Southkey, is strategic as it reflects PwC’s long-term commitment to support Johor Bahru’s growth at a time when the city is redefining its position within southern Malaysia and the wider Singapore–Johor economic corridor.
For over five decades, PwC has played a pivotal role in the state’s development, working alongside large and small businesses as Johor grew in scale, reputation, and regional relevance.
The continued development of Iskandar Malaysia, the strengthening of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), and increasing cross-border connectivity today create fresh opportunities for businesses across sectors. These shifts are also raising expectations around capability, collaboration, and long-term value creation — areas where trusted professional services play an increasingly critical role.
Speaking at the launch event, Benedict Francis, PwC Malaysia Southern Region Leader, described the new office as “more than just a change of address”, representing a space where ideas will flourish and partnerships will be strengthened as the firm continues to build trust and deliver sustained outcomes for the businesses and communities of Johor and beyond.
Beyond client work, the Johor office has contributed to the ecosystem building in the state, from shaping dialogue on sustainability in support of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) to advancing discussions on investment incentives, skills and governance, in line with Johor’s next phase of growth.
Reflecting on Johor’s transformation, Soo Hoo Khoon Yean, PwC Malaysia Managing Partner, shared that the scale and pace of development in the state have been extraordinary, adding that the office relocation is about being closer to clients, creating a base where PwC can support businesses in navigating change in an increasingly interconnected region.
The event was graced by guests of honour, Rayner Gan, Deputy Consul-General of the Republic of Singapore in Johor Bahru, Eftariadi Badri, Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Johor Bahru, and Lee Ting Kiat, Chairman of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Southern Region, whose presence reflected the growing cross-border and business ties shaping Johor’s development.

Guests were taken on a guided tour of the office after the event concluded, offering them a closer look at the space designed to encourage collaboration and innovation. The office provides a modern, welcoming environment that reflects how work is evolving. Flexible workspaces and shared areas featuring the brand’s vibrant colours enable people to be at their best at work – Importantly, the investment is about people.
Johor has long been a source of skilled and ambitious talent, and many PwC professionals have chosen to build their careers and their lives here. By investing in a future-ready workplace, PwC is supporting the next generation of professionals who will contribute to the city’s growing reputation as a dynamic regional hub.
As the city continues to evolve from a gateway to Singapore into an established economic hub, PwC’s new Johor Bahru office reflects a long-term commitment to remaining rooted in the city and its growth story.
