30 selected students from SMK Seri Pulai Perdana enjoyed a delicious buffet and received Raya money packet and book vouchers
Pulai Springs Resort had hosted 30 less fortunate students of SMK Seri Pulai Perdana to its Majlis Iftar Ramadan last night at the Gleneagles Terrace Restaurant as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR). Selected by the teachers and staff of SMK Seri Pulai Perdana, the students aged 13 to 17 years old were mainly orphans or with low-income family background.
Sunny Soo, the General Manager of Pulai Springs Resort in its welcoming speech said, “This is an annual event hosted by the Resort and we look forward to celebrating many more occasions with the underprivileged and share the company’s success with the less fortunate ones”.
Charlotte Monterio, Marketing Communications Manager mentioned to the press that the Resort have been specifically helping the underprivileged school students and has jointly worked with SMK Seri Pulai Perdana for the past few years. These students come in rotation so that each of the less fortunate students could get their chance.
During the event, Sunny Soo handed out ‘Duit Raya’ of RM40 each to the students, courtesy of the resort and also contributed by its Sports Club. Coupled with the money packet was Popular Bookstore gift voucher sponsored by a generous Cinta Ayu Resort Apartment’s resident at Pulai Springs Resort.
The students then break their fast, indulging in a sumptuous spread of more than 150 traditional, international and local delicacies, lovingly prepared by the resort’s culinary team. In the middle of the dining session, a group of students had showcased their talent by performing nasyid and Raya song.
Also present during the event were the resort’s heads of departments and the Sports Club committee members.
