Delight your first week of November by starting your lunch and dinner right.
Launched from 30th October and would hold its final specials on Friday, 15th November, Wan Li Chinese Restaurant of Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel presents a limited time 4 Hands Dining Experience available for lunch and dinner.
Flying Chef KM Lim of Le Mei Chinese Restaurant, Le Meridien Putrajaya to combine forces with Wan Li’s Chef Jerri, the two brands laid out exquisite ten luxurious and unforgettable dishes for you to choose, ala carte.
With the price range starting from RM30 to RM110 per dish, it blew my mind off with its generous portion and fresh ingredients that our table of seven pax are hardly talking as we chow down each of the servings, leaving no crumbs behind.
All fifteen of us from two different tables unanimously shared the same opinion on the Double boiled Free Range Chicken Soup with Porcini Mushroom and Sea Whelk. It was served hot, giving us a hearty treat, it rejuvenated our mind, body and soul at the first sip. We could hear everyone exhaling satisfaction at each spoonful of soup!
The other hit of the table is Wok-Fried Jumbo Tiger Prawns with Crispy Garlic and Dried Chilli. My friend felt apologetic for me who is allergic to shellfish as she was enjoying the huge, juicy prawn, perfected with the crunchiness from the sweet garlic flakes and the spiciness of dried chili so much, the joy of eating it should be extended to more people.
It was fine, because my personal favourite is the well-marinated Australian Beef stir fry with Spicy Peanut Sauce, that you can taste the slightly thick, savoury sauce seeped through from the inside of the meat, making it a premium stir fry dish for me.
There are seven more dishes for you to find out, but I will share with you my thoughts on the dessert-Chilled Blue Pea Flower Jelly with Passion Fruit and Sour Plum Juice.
It is an evolution to Wan Li’s popular Passion Fruit jelly, specially elevated for the 4 Hands week event with a beautiful, lavender coloured dome of jelly that turned to gradient of magenta as we poked our spoon to mix with the acidic plum juice, balanced with the sweetness of passion fruit. I imagine this is what must have been served to the emperor thousands of years ago.
Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel’s Executive Chef, Syafiffi Tahir told us the event is a prelude to Wan Li’s new menu. “One, two or maybe all of what was served in this one week event may or may not be part of the new menu,” he said.
Be among the first to taste the possible new menu of Wan Li before it ends! Available for lunch from 11:00am to 3:00pm and dinner from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
