Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Minister of Works, has gone to the field with officers from the Ministry of Works (KKR) and the Kota Tinggi District Public Works Department (JKR) to assess the implementation of development projects and service delivery to the community.

This visit reflects the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring that the development of roads, bridges, public buildings, and educational facilities is carried out effectively for the benefit of the people.

The Kota Tinggi District Public Works Department has announced that maintenance will cover 772.91 km of federal roads and 135.59 km of state roads, including routine and periodic work, pavement and non-pavement, drainage, sewerage, and slopes.

As of April 2026, RM42.863 million had been set aside for the maintenance of federal roads, which included road repairs, drainage systems, and improvements to road furniture and signage.

At the same time, three federal road projects worth RM10 million and one state government flood mitigation project worth RM2.3 million are under construction.

A total of ten federal building projects worth RM85.7 million and one state project worth RM2 million were also carried out, including the construction of courts, health clinics, sports schools, mosques, skills training institutes and housing.

JKR is also planning new projects in Pengerang to help with population growth following the development of the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC).

Furthermore, 24 additional school block projects are planned as a pioneer in the placement of students aged 6 to Grade 1 in 2027 using the modular and IBS methods, with eight projects given priority beginning in May and the remainder in stages.

A total of RM8.6 million was also set aside for three projects to upgrade and maintain training institutes, schools, and government buildings.

KKR remains committed to ensuring that all projects are completed on time, meet safety and quality standards, and have a direct impact on community well-being and local economic development.
