Decathlon Malaysia launched its 11th outlet and it received over 25,895 people at its grand opening at Toppen Shopping Centre, Johor Bahru, on the 14th and 15th of January.

The public thronged and combed over 5,000 exclusive products covering more than 60 sports at the outlet located conveniently at the Ground Floor which is connected to the parking bays and near a full-sized futsal court.

The inauguration of their first store outside of Klang Valley saw its first ever Hari Sukan Decathlon, a three-day sports day open to the public free of charge which received over 500 participants.

250 Decathlon vouchers worth RM50 were also up for grabs as visitors filtered through over 5,000 exclusive products covering more than 60 sports at the all-new Decathlon Toppen outlet.

“The opening of our first Decathlon lifestyle store in Johor Bahru at Toppen Shopping Centre is such an exciting moment to share among fellow Decathlon members and sports enthusiasts in the Southern region! With Hari Sukan Decathlon, we aim to make sports accessible to the many. Sports is what we are passionate about, and we are pleased to be able to fulfil Johoreans’ needs for sporting goods and services; we want to empower them to have an active lifestyle while refining their sporting capabilities,” said Karim Cheboub, Retail Leader of Decathlon Malaysia.

Hari Sukan Decathlon organised a carnival of exciting activities at every corner of the Toppen Shopping Centre open car park ranging from Mega-Workouts by Manic Studio, Mega-Yoga, Mega-Zumba and Mega-Kpop X dance by Yo Studio, Mega-boxing with Anka, skateboarding, horse riding, pushbike competition, football and futsal matches by Yayasan JDT and various workout performances by Barragaz, Threef Jump Rope and Raja Freestyler.

“This is just the beginning! We thank the Johor sports’ communities for their unwavering support and for joining us at our inaugural Hari Sukan Decathlon. All the activities we offered received overwhelming response, and we would also like to congratulate all the winners and participants for joining us, “added Karim Cheboub.

Meanwhile, Karim also shared that another Decathlon Store in Johor will open on 11th February 2023 in City Square, and there may be even more stores opening this year. The Decathlon Club community will get first-hand information about it.

The Decathlon’s Membership Programme will offers 365 days return and exchange of 2 years product warranty, invitations to Decathlon events, free click and collect options and many more.

Besides the futsal court, Decathlon Toppen anchors a healthy food cafe called Fuel Good by Agrain, and a range of Decastudios conducting a multitude of sessions such as yoga, pilates, fitness dance, boxing and kickboxing of which participants can sign up via Play by Decathlon.

As Decathlon Malaysia dreams of making sports sustainably accessible for all Johoreans, the opening of Decathlon Toppen, alongside the success of Hari Sukan Decathlon, is just the beginning of Decathlon Malaysia connecting with the sports community in Johor Bahru. Together, sports can be made accessible for anyone and everyone at any time.
