Columbia Asia Hospital – Tebrau Sports and Recreation Club initiated voluntary efforts to organise a Flood Relief Donation Drive from 8th January until the 11th of January 2021 to assist the victims of the floods due to the Winter Monsoon’s heavy rains and causes massive floods in several states. Many doctors Head of Department and staff came forward to support this initiative.
There was money raised as well as necessities items such as rice, cooking oil, noodle, drinks, can food, toiletries, pillows, clothing and etc.
The donations went to 153 persons which consists of 48 families. All donations were handed over to flood victims in Flood Relief Settlement Center – SJK (C) Yok Poon and SK Sungai Rengit at Pengerang Kota Tinggi on the same day.
Aside donating to the Settlement Centre, the hospital has also donated to five staff who suffered from personal losses during the flood as well.
“The campaign was a great success as we managed to collect massive amount of donations and we were glad we can help contribute in alleviating the sufferings of the victims. Thank you for your kindness and generosity,” said Rahani Yaacob, Regional General Manager.
