Mindx to Ease 10,000 Pandemic Stress in Johor

The state’s initiative aimed to help with people’s mental health care

Mindx, an online psychological and counselling services programme is said to be able to reduce the pychological or mental health impact brought upon by the pandemic on Johor citizens.

According to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Haji Ir. Hasni Mohammad, the programme is also expected to boost the state’s overall pandemic administration. “Especially to those affected during this COVID-19 pandemic. They need support in all aspects”.

“Mental health is as important as physical health. Therefore, preventive measures at an early stage must be implemented to overcome the problems of stress and trauma of patients,” he said at the Darul Ta’zim Family Development Foundation (YPKDT) Bandar Segamat Office, on 1st August, after the handover of KFC food voucher of RM2 million to Noor Ruzilawati Ruddin, the General Manager of Yayasan Johor Corporation (Jcorp) at the Segamat Social Welfare Department (JKM) Office.

Also present were Women, Family and Community Development Committee Chairman Zaiton Ismail, Secretary of the Human Resource Management Division, Johor State Government, Hasrin Kamal Hashim and Chief Executive Officer of YPKDT, Nurul Naqiah Fadzil.

The Johor State Counseling and Psychology Service is one of the initiatives announced by the Menteri Besar in the Ihsan Johor 3.0 Economic Stimulus Package (PRE). The vouchers were also part of the initiative under PRE and will be distributed by Jcorp.

Mindx, with an RM1 million budget, is expected to aid more than 10,000 individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic that needs psychological support and counselling.

Programmes implemented under this initiative include online counseling sessions, webinars, counseling clinics, Johor counselor mobile team and support groups.
