SKS Group announces a signed agreement with Marriott International Inc. to open the Four Points by Sheraton Johor Bahru following the rebranding of the AmanSari Residence Resort in Bandar Seri Alam. The hotel is expected to welcome guests in Q1 2026.

“This signing marks a bold and meaningful step forward for us – our very first foray into franchising,” said Meera Raj, Head of SKS Hospitality. “It’s a reflection of how far we’ve come as a team – a team with the right mix of skill, resilience, and diverse talents trusted by global brands to bring exceptional guest experiences to life. The transformation of this legacy hotel into Four Points by Sheraton Johor Bahru is not just a change in name – it’s a reawakening of purpose, rooted in our commitment to create stays that guests will remember for a long time.”

The project marks a milestone for SKS Hospitality, representing its first entry into franchise operations. It also signals the group’s continued brand growth, positioning Four Points Johor Bahru as its second Four Points property and the fourth property under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels and resorts following the openings of Four Points by Sheraton Desaru, Sheraton Johor Bahru (opening Q3 2025), and Courtyard by Marriott Subang (opening 2026).

When it opens, the hotel is expected to feature 150 guest rooms across three key categories:

  • 70 Twin Rooms (Deluxe & Premium) – 31.26 sqm with two single beds; Premium units located on higher floors
  • 70 King Rooms (Deluxe & Premium) – 50.61 sqm with private balcony or patio; Premium units located on higher floors
  • 10 Three-Bedroom Duplexes – 130 sqm with balcony/patio and split-level layout, all on higher floors

Premium Rooms and Three-Bedroom Duplexes offer enhanced in-room amenities, including a coffee machine and complimentary welcome drinks.

A vibrant All-Day Dining is slated to offer 98 indoor seats, complemented by a semi-open kitchen, live stations, a display buffet, and an alfresco terrace for 40. Plans also include for the hotel to feature a Lobby Bar and Lounge with 45 seats, offering guests a relaxed space to unwind with drinks, snacks, and grab & go convenience.

Designed to accommodate both business and social events, the hotel is expected to include 1,770 sqm of function space, including a 1,130 sqm divisible Grand Ballroom, a 310 sqm Junior Ballroom, five meeting rooms, and a 255 sqm pre-function area.

“We are pleased to expand the presence of the Four Points by Sheraton in Johor through this collaboration with SKS Group,” said Andree Susilo, Vice President, Hotel Development, Asia-Pacific, Marriott International, Inc. “Bandar Seri Alam is a vibrant and fast-growing township, making it an excellent fit for a brand that delivers stylish comfort and reliable essentials. This partnership underscores our commitment to growing Marriott’s footprint in Malaysia.”

Purposefully designed for the way people travel today, the hotel is set to offer a balanced experience for both business and leisure guests – anchored in brand familiarity, local relevance, and long-term value within one of Malaysia’s most promising destinations.
