Johor Sultan Donated 103,000 Tents to Be Used as Flood Shelters Nationwide

His Majesty, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has donated 103,000 disaster tents worth RM19 million to all states nationwide.

On his official Facebook page post, the cubic tents were donated through the Sultan Ibrahim of Johor Foundation (SIJF) in preparation for use by victims of natural disasters such as floods at temporary relief centres.

Held at the Istana Polo, Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru, the handing-over was graced by His Majesty’s official representative, His Royal Highness Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, The Crown Prince of Johor. Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor State Secretary, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Azmi Rohani and SIJF Board of Trustees Member, Dato’ Avinderjit Singh also was in attendance.

All states were said to receive more than 5,000 tents each.

Dato’ Avinderjit said it was of particular concern to HM Sultan Ibrahim that the victims of disasters, especially floods, are able to have some measure of comfort while at the relief centres.

Also in attendance were Datuk Nazran Muhammad (Kelantan State Secretary), YBM Tengku Sri Bijaya Raja Datuk Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil (Terengganu State Secretary), Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak (Pahang State Secretary), Datuk Wira Zaidi Johari (Melaka State Secretary), Datuk Haris Kasim (Selangor State Secretary), Datuk Zakuan Zakaria (Penang Deputy State Secretary (Development)) and Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus (NADMA Deputy Director-General (Post Disaster Management Division)).
