Elvina Callysta Ammara Md Ishak, 10, a fourth-year student from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Seri Alam, won the Children’s Solo Dance category at the Spain Super Grand Prix Dance Competition in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

Elvina’s Madurai Veeran Thane dance performance, which emphasised racial diversity, rhythmic boldness, and the spirit of unity, outperformed over 300 entries from 13 European, Asian, and American countries.

Elvina’s guardian during the event, Sapura Bakri, shared that Elvina’s performance has mixed traditional Kolattam movements with a fresh Malaysian touch, making it stand out in the eyes of international judges.

Elvina is a member of the Malaysian contingent at the famous tournament, representing the country through the Cultural Group of the Sports, Co-Curriculum, and Arts Division, Ministry of Education (KPM).
