His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent Sultan of Johor has launched the Tunku Mahkota Ismail Youth Centre (TMIYC) Pasir Gudang.

Also present were Johor Menteri Besar Dato’ Onn Hafiz Bin Ghazi, Johor State Secretary, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Haji Azmi Rohani and Johor State Youth and Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives EXCO, Mohd Hairi Mad Shah.

The TMIYC in Pasir Gudang is the third following the Hutan Bandar, Johor Bahru and Muar facilities. This is in line with HRH The Regent of Johor’s idea and vision to strengthen youth development with the construction of a Youth Centre in every district in Johor.

“Syukur Alhamdulillah, TMIYC Pasir Gudang is the third center to be officiated by HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail out of five TMIYCs that have been and are being developed throughout the state. This initiative is the brainchild of HRH Tunku since 2020, with the goal of creating a modern youth center in each district,” said Onn Hafiz in his Facebook statement.

All of these TMIYCs’ purposes are said to serve beyond youth activity centres.

“They are the heart of human development with various modern facilities such as sports fields, extreme courts, e-sports hubs, open stages, and youth business spaces. They are a place for Johor youth to unearth talent, cultivate discipline, and develop their potential comprehensively,” Onn Hafiz said.

He also listed the facilities at TMIYC Pasir Gudang including an open stage (Amphitheatre), paddle courts, wall climbing, Main Hall, archery range, children’s playground, food truck area, caravan site, and Go-Kart and Motor CUB-PRIX circuit.

“The State Government has also taken proactive steps to establish the TMIYC Activation Task Force, which coordinates the implementation and management of all these centres systematically.”

“The focus is on four main aspects: community engagement, facility management, communication strategy, and financial governance. This ensures that each TMIYC is not only magnificent in terms of construction, but also lives with high-impact activities,” he added.

Onn Hafiz ended the statement by stating that the state government will stay committed to developing Johor’s youth holistically to produce a generation that is competent, progressive and competitive, in the hope that this initiative will be a catalyst for building a more glorious, united and advanced Johor.
